Chu Lai Port handles nearly 4,000 TEUs in over 24 hours
On October 17, Chu Lai Port showcased its operational competence by receiving and handling nearly 4,000 TEUs of cargo in just over 24 hours, underscoring its efficiency in vessel operations and import-export services.
early 2,000 import-export containers from the ships SITC HENGDE, CNC SULAWESI, and HAIAN BELL were efficiently and safely handled, carrying goods such as auto parts, garments, furniture, medical equipment, fruits, and cassava starch from businesses across Central Vietnam, Southern Laos, and Northern Cambodia.
To ensure efficient handling of large cargo volumes, the port had deployed high-capacity STS and eRTG cranes, organizing proper ship schedules and worker shifts, and scientifically managing yard areas. Besides, its close coordination with state agencies facilitated seamless operations, ensuring timely docking and departure of ships.
Chu Lai Port has recently completed and operationalized berth No. 2, extending its total berth length to 836 meters. This expansion allows the port to accommodate container ships up to 50,000 DWT, optimizing operational efficiency and bolstering THILOGI's comprehensive logistics services.
Looking ahead, the port has plans to establish direct service routes to ports in China, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, and India, while expanding partnerships with international container shipping lines. These initiatives aim to offer businesses more service options, enhance regional import-export activities, and strengthen trade connections from Chu Lai Port to major markets in Asia.
