TRUONG HAI GROUP CORPORATION (TRUONG HAI GROUP), formerly known as Truong Hai Auto Corporation (THACO), was founded on April 29, 1997, in Dong Nai province, southern Vietnam.  The founder is Mr. Tran Ba Duong, who currently serves as the THACO Chairman.

After 27 years, from a company which mainly traded and repaired second-hand vehicles, THACO has evolved into a multi-industry holding corporation which has 6 sub-holdings, i.e. THACO AUTO (Automobiles), THACO INDUSTRIES (Mechanics & Supporting Industries), THACO AGRI (Agriculture), THADICO (Investment – Construction), THISO (Commerce – Service) and THILOGI (Logistics) under a highly integrated and complementary model.

THACO is a multi-industry group which owns Sub-holdings operating in: automotive, agriculture, mechanics & supporting industries, investment - construction, commerce - service, and logistics with high integration and complementarity in each Sub-holding, between Sub-holdings and within THACO; organizes business activities throughout the value chain and manages by the industrial methods; participates in the global value chain and adopts digital transformation with an appropriate roadmap.

THACO entered the second year to implement the multi-industry development strategies, including Automobiles, Agri, Supporting Industries & Mechanics, Logistics, Investment – Construction and Commerce – Service which are highly integrated and complementary in line with global integration and digitalization, and to embrace the mission to “bring values to customers & society, and make contributions to Vietnam’s economic growth”.

THACO restructured into a multi-industry corporation which has a highly integrated and complimentary business model and develops sustainably in line with digitalization and global integration.

5/2021 : THACO established Truong Hai International Services and Operation Joint Stock Company (THISO). Later, THISO founded THISO Retail to manage the supermarkets/hypermarkets after the acquisition of supermarkets and franchise rights from E-mart Inc. (Korea)

11/2021 : THACO established Supporting Industries & Mechanics Ltd. (THACO INDUSTRIES)

5/2020 : THACO established Truong Hai International Logistics Ltd. (THILOGI) which owns 3 subsidiaries, i.e. Port Company, Shipping Company and Trucking Company.

12/2020 : THACO founded THACO AUTO Ltd. which includes all business units in THACO’s current distribution – retail network.

THACO developed the strategy to become a multi-industry corporation with a highly integrated and complementary business model. Specifically, Automobiles – Mechanics and Agri were the 2 key businesses, while Investment – Construction, Logistics, Commerce – Services were the 3 supporting businesses.

THACO developed logistics to support the auto business in Chu Lai, Quang Nam, invested in mechanics and parts production, and grew the agricultural business through HAGL Agrico.

THACO diversified into public infrastructure and real estate development by investing in Dai Quang Minh Real Estate Investment Corporation.

THACO invested in Chu Lai Open Economic Zone in central Quang Nam province to develop Vietnamese auto industry in general, and to carry out THACO’s auto manufacturing strategies in the context of ASEAN integration in 2018 (zero-percent tariffs for imported cars)

THACO started to assemble KIA light-duty trucks, an auto brand from South Korea.

THACO was founded in Dong Nai, southern VN to trade and repair second-hand vehicles. In 1999, THACO determined to expand to northern VN with our first branch in Hanoi capital.
