Laser-Cutting workshop: Spotlight in Chu Lai's “Waste elimination”

Laser-cutting workshop, under the mechanical complex company is in charge of machining mechanical parts and components. To improve its productivity and product quality as well as eliminate waste, the factory has launched different initiatives and improvements to save nearly VND1 billion and more than 8.5 tons of raw materials in 2022.

Last year, the workshop has finished 22 projects to improve production efficiency. The most outstanding was "Using excessive 4-milimeter Hazdox work pieces in dump-truck production to manufacture steel structures for shot-blasting rooms and construction works”. The project was carried out by Mr. Duong Duc Tuong, a member in the auto part laser-cutting team. It not only made good use of 5.6 tons of left-over materials but also saved more than VND350 million in 2022.

Known as the one with many innovative topics which have saved more than VND50 million and 2.4 tons of materials to make new work piece in 2022, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Truong Son, a Planning executive shared, “Realizing that the left-over work pieces were taking up a lot of space and costs, I proposed to use them to make parts with suitable sizes. I feel the urge to make more efforts to do research and come up with new initiatives, improve quality, and contribute to improving production efficiency.”

Upholding creativity, in the first quarter of 2023, the workshop had done 19 applicable projects which helped save nearly VND200 million. Mr. Nguyen Nhu Loc, the workshop Manager said, “In order to promote the technical improvement, not only everyone here is trying, the company also enables us to the job. From there, we can learn and explore new areas, then making contributions to the company development."
