According to the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Bui Van Cuong, 30 units and individuals were honored in the "Vietnam Glory - 30 Years of National Renewal" are the ones who have made the most excellent achievements in many fields, having been carefully selected from 184 profiles submitted by 43 provinces, cities and 15 ministries, sectors, after 6 polls and secret ballots.

At the ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized the organization of the program "Vietnam Glory - 30 Years of National Renewal" is an opportunity to recognize great efforts and contributions of individuals and units from all over the country. They stand for magnificent and typical examples contributing to the national economic development, making great impressions, brightening the face of the society, and having widespread influence on other units and individuals.

THACO Chairman, Mr Tran Ba Duong is a typical person in the program "Vietnam Glory - 30 Years of National Renewal". Overcoming the difficulties and challenges from the market in the period of renovation, with innovative ideas and breakthroughs, Chairman Tran Ba Duong has built THACO into the largest private enterprise in Vietnam which takes mechanics and automobiles as its main driving force for the development of other industries.

Since 2003, when he came to Chu Lai, he has made a new turning point in his life as well as in the white sands of Chu Lai, turning the land into an auto industrial park with dozens of Truck, bus, and cars plants along with other components factories, turning this place into the largest mechanical center in the Central and Vietnam. By the end of 2016, THACO has a total number of 152 points of sales, including 94 showrooms, 58 dealers across the country. It is expected to develop 116 new sales points by 2017, bringing the total number of its points of sale to 268.

In early 2012, Mr Tran Ba Duong invested in real estate via Dai Quang Minh Company, so enthusiastic with the desire to accompany with Ho Chi Minh City to build Thu Thiem into a new urban center of the city.
With the strategy to develop the company into a multi-disciplinary group, in 2017, THACO continues to invest in the new field of agri. THACO has signed a cooperation agreement to manufacture and distribute agricultural machines with LSMtron Co. in South Korea, whereby LSMtron will transfer technology to THACO in building a new factory and producing agricultural machines with the localization ratio of 50 %, promoting the industrialization of agri, improving the competitiveness of the agricultural sector, and bettering farmers' livelihood.

The Poll Council voted, Mr Tran Ba Duong always owns a creative mindset in developing THACO, having great contributions to the economic development. At the same time, his THACO has always focused on social outreaching programs with a portion of its profits is dedicated to social welfare activities every year. With his great contributions to the cause of national construction and development in 30 years of national renovation, Mr Tran Ba Duong was honored to receive this noble award.

The General Secretary acknowledged and praised individuals and units such as Vinamilk, Viettel Army Telecommunication Corporation, Truong Hai THACO (founded by Mr Tran Ba Duong), etc. having remarkably excellent impressions in promoting economic development, creating jobs for millions of laborers, making great contributions to the state budget, and building national brands.
