On August 24, THACO Chairman and Bach Khoa Alumni (BKA) President Tran Ba Duong graced the HCMC University of Technology (HCMUT)'s 2024-2025 school year opening ceremony.

The ceremony was attended by VNU-HCM Vice President Nguyen Minh Tam, HCMUT Party Secretary and Council Chair Le Minh Phuong, Rector Mai Thanh Phong, faculty and center heads, and over 5,000 new students.

According to the BKA President, as part of its efforts to support students, the BKA Community Representative Board and HCMUT have launched a 0% interest loan fund to help students meet their financial needs, especially new students.

As part of the ceremony, HCMUT awarded scholarships to four new students with the highest entrance exam scores.


Over the years, HCMUT has established itself as a leading institution providing skilled workforce and technological innovations, contributing significantly to Vietnam's economic and technological growth. The university currently has over 25,000 undergraduate students, 2,000 graduate students, and 250 doctoral students annually. It offers 39 undergraduate majors, 34 master's majors, and 32 doctoral majors in engineering technology, management, administration, microchip design, logistics, and other fields.
