Chu Lai Port operates berthing aid and meteorological monitoring system
Chu Lai Port has recently installed and commissioned a new berthing aid and meteorological monitoring system. This advancement allows the port to accommodate larger vessels and ensures the safe and efficient management of the berthing process.
The system comprises two main modules: the Berthing Aid System (BAS) for measuring berthing speed and meteorological monitoring equipment. It continuously provides data on berthing speed, the distance between the ship and the berth (using laser sensors), and key weather and hydrographic parameters such as wind direction, temperature, humidity, water level, and waves. Ship berthing monitoring is conducted regularly, with meteorological monitoring performed four times daily.
The new monitoring system enhances the efficiency and accuracy of navigating large vessels, ensuring the safety of the port's infrastructure. This upgrade boosts Chu Lai Port's capacity to handle cargo, accommodating the increasing frequency of international ships.
Chu Lai Port plans to further its digital transformation by implementing ePort electronic port software, customs clearance, electronic payments, and PL-COS software for general cargo port operations. These advancements aim to facilitate customer transactions, provide real-time updates on ship and cargo data, and save time and costs, ultimately creating a technological port ecosystem.
