THACO INDUSTRIES: Building a regional-scale parts & component manufacturing hub
THACO INDUSTRIES is boosting investments in the supporting industry, establishing a regional-level component manufacturing center. This initiative includes boosting its localization rate, strengthening Vietnam's auto industry, and deepening its integration into the global supply chain.

Expanding scope, upgrading technology
With early investments in mechanical engineering and supporting industries to support THACO’s automaking, THACO INDUSTRIES after 22 years, together with its mechanical center, has built a component manufacturing hub in Chu Lai, Quang Nam with a total investment of $550 million. The facility comprises 12 advanced factories that meet international technology standards.

THACO INDUSTRIES has entered partnership with leading auto brands such as Kia, Mazda, BMW, Peugeot, Hyundai, Toyota, and Isuzu, supplying various components. These include body and chassis parts (body panels, truck beds, dashboard frames, leaf springs), interior and exterior parts (seats, bumpers, windows, roof liners, floor panels, plastic components), drivetrain components (rims, fuel tanks, exhaust systems), and electrical and air conditioning components (wire harnesses, air conditioners, radiators). Its products are exported to North America, Australia, Germany, South Korea, Japan, Poland, and Southeast Asia.

In line with its strategy to develop THACO-branded vehicles and meet market demand, making technology upgrades is THACO INDUSTRIES’ key task. At the beginning of 2025, the company inaugurated a series of new plants, including an Auto Body Parts & Chassis Plant, a Auto Premium Glass Plant, and an Auto Electrical Equipment Plant. Spanning over 50,000 square meters and worth $75 million in total, these facilities feature state-of-the-art production lines from the U.S., Germany, Italy, and Japan. Their goal is to enhance production capacity, meet export standards, and elevate component manufacturing capabilities.
Regional-scale component manufacturing center
In alignment with its production expansion strategy, THACO INDUSTRIES innovates and applies new technologies and materials to diversify its product portfolio tailored to customer needs. It also pays efforts in building THACO Parts brand, adhering to international standards such as IATF 16949:2016, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 14001:2015, as well as meeting global component production requirements and processes to support localization for domestic automobile manufacturing and assembly businesses.

The firm is also strengthening its supply chain, improving product quality and operation efficiency through digital tools such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), manufacturing execution system (MES), and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA). These efforts aim to meet sustainability requirements (ESG standards) and greenhouse gas inventory practices.
Between 2023 and 2027, THACO INDUSTRIES will continue to invest in key projects, including a passenger car interior complex, partnerships for technical rubber and high-tech production parks at Chu Lai. The company also plans to develop an automotive interior and exterior components factory in northern Vietnam and a mechanical and supporting industry park in the south.

With these long-term strategies, THACO INDUSTRIES is establishing a regional-scale component manufacturing center featuring cutting-edge technology and high production capacity. The center includes passenger car and commercial vehicle interior complexes, as well as next-generation factories offering a wide range of products to meet the needs of domestic automakers and exports to major markets globally. The company is also focused on cost control to deliver fairly priced products and efficient logistics solutions.
Given the supporting industry has been further supported by government tax incentives in the automotive sector taking effect until December 31, 2027, companies like THACO INDUSTRIES are encouraged to expand their investments and strengthen competitiveness. By achieving its goal of developing a regional-level component manufacturing center, THACO INDUSTRIES contributes to the competitiveness of domestic automotive manufacturers and deeper integration into the global supply chain.
