THACO Chairman wants to see more development and unity in business community
The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (VCCI) Top Vietnam Business Council convened its annual meeting in Quang Ninh on March 8. THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong, serving as Co-Chairman, participated in discussions and presented on the implementation of the 2024 Cooperation Program.
Established by the VCCI Executive Committee, the Council is entrusted with facilitating the development of Vietnam's leading enterprises, fostering domestic and international cooperative relationships, and promoting their contributions to a self-reliant economy, international integration, and sustainable development.
Due to the significant challenges faced by both businesses and the VCCI in 2023, after the launch in late April 2023, the Top Vietnam Business Council were not very much active. The Council members have recently convened to discuss the development and implementation of the Council's Cooperation Program for 2024.
According to THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong, membership in the Council entails a dual commitment: entrepreneurs must not only strive for the continued growth of their own businesses but also actively contribute to the advancement of the Vietnamese business community, including participation in policy consultations to foster a sustainable development environment for Vietnamese businesses, ultimately leading to a greater number of leading enterprises across all sectors.
The THACO Chairman further emphasized that the pressures of international economic integration serve as a catalyst for entrepreneurs to acknowledge their responsibilities and roles. Within this context, businesses must undertake a clear definition of the requirements for competition, cooperation, and mutual development.
"Through self-assessment, enterprises can identify their core strengths and determine necessary adjustments to ensure their survival and growth within the integrated market. In this context, Top Vietnam Business Council plays a crucial role in defining the responsibilities in building industry leaders", commented THACO Chairman.
Following his participation in the Council meeting, THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong also attended the 2024 Spring Meeting Program held that same afternoon, co-organized by Quang Ninh Province and the VCCI.
The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Executive Committee formed the Top Vietnam Business Council, inaugurating it with a prestigious group of 21 leading Vietnamese businesses as its founding members. VCCI Chairman Pham Tan Cong, THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong and FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh are the three chairmen of the council. The council was formed succeeding the industry-leading Enterprise Working Group, which was established by the VCCI Executive Committee on May 26, 2022, with THACO Chairman at the helm. |
