THACO gives Olympia Global Network scholarships in third quarter of 2023
On July 2, the Road to Olympia's third-quarter round ended with the first prize winner being Le Xuan Manh, a 11th Grader from Ham Rong High School in Thanh Hoa Province. With this victory, Thanh Hoa has become the next destination of Olympia Global Network THACO scholarships in 2023.
The Olympia Global Network THACO is a scholarship fund under Road to Olympia show, jointly implemented by the Vietnam Television, THACO, and the provincial Departments of Education and Training. Each province or city that has an Olympia first-prize winner in the quarterly contest will receive 10 scholarships from THACO (VND10 million each) for high-performing students living in difficulties.
Truong Duc Thang, a 12th-grade student of Luong Duc Bang High School, one of 10 the scholarship honorees has been living in particularly difficult conditions. 11 years after his father’s death, Thang and his mother have been taking care of the family and his younger sister. He shared his feelings when receiving the scholarship, "I always want to help my family lead a better and happier life. In the near future, I will help my mom enjoy things that she was unable to do when she was young as she had to spend all her time for us, like taking her on a trip or giving her the best dresses. The scholarship helps me keep moving forward on my education path and have more opportunities to fulfill my dreams.”
“For students who are living in hardship, the scholarship somewhat brings relief on their tuitions, and could act as a meaningful source of mental support and motivation for other students,” said Ms. Bui Thi Thanh, Vice Director of Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training.
Supporting education activities has always been a culture at THACO for many years. The Vietnamese corporation hopes to create motivation and inspire the spirit of life learning, thereby contributing to building the younger dreams.
