THACO and Hyundai Rotem at VRT&CON’ 2026
The International Exhibition & Summit on Modern Railway Technology and Infrastructure Construction Supply Chain (VRT&CON’ 2026) ran from October 8 to 10, 2026, in Hanoi, drawing a large turnout from across the industry. At the event, the THACO and Hyundai Rotem booth drew strong interest from delegates, partners, and visitors, helping build connections and expand opportunities to cooperate on developing Vietnam’s rail industry.

Localization to master rail technology
At the exhibition, THACO presented its vision for developing Vietnam’s rail industry, built on its mechanical engineering and industrial manufacturing strengths and on technology transfer partnerships with international partners. This gives THACO a basis to gradually raise its domestic production capacity, localize products, and master rail technology.
The focus is the 320-hectare Rail Industry and Multi-Purpose Mechanical Engineering Complex at its THACO Binh Co Industrial Park in Ho Chi Minh City, which aims for self-reliance in producing core equipment, components, and structures, a higher localization rate, and control over the supply of materials and spare parts. This will help optimize operating costs, improve operating efficiency, and keep rail projects sustainable over the long term.
A wide range of products, technologies, and solutions on display
THACO showcased an urban train car model for 1,435 mm gauge track, along with products, equipment, and solutions for the rail industry. These included interior and exterior components; HVAC systems; rail switches; aluminum profiles; models of rail infrastructure construction equipment; automatic ticket gates; and AMR robots for carrying luggage.
Hyundai Rotem displayed a model of the EMU-370 high-speed train, a bogie, and the Matangi electric train. It also presented a VR experience of the EMU-320 train interior, a smart train control system, and an AI-integrated train operations solution.
Connecting with partners, drawing visitors and hands-on experiences
Over the three days of the exhibition, the THACO and Hyundai Rotem booth welcomed delegations, businesses, partners, and visitors eager to learn about rail industry products, technologies, and solutions. Notably, the booth hosted Major General Luu Hong Quang, Director of the Security Industry Department, along with other delegates and guests.
Alongside networking and cooperation talks, the booth also drew a large number of visitors, including university students who came to learn about modern rail technology.
Through VRT&CON’ 2026, THACO continues to expand its connections with domestic and international partners, gradually building a rail industry ecosystem and strengthening its ability to take part in the value chain of Vietnam’s rail projects.
