THACO champions Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Championship 2024
The Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Championship 2024 kicked off with a press conference and group stage in Ho Chi Minh City on September 16. THACO is the diamond sponsor of the tournament.
The press conference was attended by key figures from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), and the media. These included Mr. Nguyen Manh Kien, Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of the Confederation; Mr. Tran Anh Tu, Vice President of the VFF; Mr. Nguyen Minh Chau, Deputy General Secretary of the VFF; journalist Tran Xuan Toan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper and Head of the Tournament Organizing Committee; and Mr. Nguyen Mot, THACO Corporate Culture and Communications Senior Director.
At the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Mot emphasized the importance of football as a tool for training, love, and promoting the strength of Vietnamese youth. He stated, "Our greatest resources are not material wealth, but our human capital, especially our young workers. We have the youth, the passion, and the potential to achieve great things. Let us harness this strength through programs like the Workers and Civil Servants Football Championship."
Aligned with its commitment to "Developing sustainably with Vietnam," THACO has been actively involved in sponsorship programs for young people. This is the second year of THACO's support for the Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Championship. THACO hopes to see the tournament become even more professional and inclusive, contributing to the development of a healthy, dynamic, and sports-loving community, and ultimately, the growth of Vietnamese football.
The Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Championship (formerly known as the National Football Championship) is a joint initiative organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Vietnam Football Federation, and Tuoi Tre newspaper. This year, the tournament features over 60 teams competing in the 7-a-side format, following the official rules set by the Vietnam Football Federation. The tournament will be held in two rounds: a qualifying round from September to October in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Nghe An, and Bac Ninh, and a national final round in November in Hanoi. The top 16 teams from the qualifying round will advance to the final round. The total prize money for the tournament is up to VND930 million. The champion team of each regional qualifying round will receive VND50 million, while the champion team of the national final round will receive VND150 million. |
