THACO Chairman is named Chairman of VCCI's Leading Business Council of Vietnam
On Wednesday, at the 60th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the Leading Business Council of Vietnam was launched with the aims to expand the development and the competitiveness of Vietnam's economy.
Accordingly, the Council consists of 21 members who are representatives of leading businesses in Vietnam. Its 3 chairmen are THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong, VCCI Chairman Pham Tan Cong and FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh.
Attending the event, Vietnam President Vo Van Thuong congratulated the opening of the council and lauded VCCI for taking the initiative to establish such council to build connections and develop leading large-scale businesses in Vietnam, expand local and international cooperation, and promote the roles of leading businesses in industries and localities. From there, it will lead other SMEs and businesses in the industry to develop, continue to make contributions to develop the business community and to build an independent and self-reliant economy in Vietnam with global integration and sustainability.
Representing the council, THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong said, “Today is such a meaningful day for each member of the Leading Business Council of Vietnam. We are honored, and also aware of our big responsibility. In order for the council to operate substantially and effectively, meanwhile fulfilling its functions and responsibilities, it is necessary that each member should try their best to embrace dedication in developing their businesses in the best possible way and establishing strong and close cooperation with the local and international businesses.
The other thing we should do is upholding, building and spreading entrepreneurial ethics and corporate culture, improving the capacity and position to fulfill our role as leaders in the industry and in the Vietnamese business community. And also, take the lead in sustainable development and corporate social responsibility activities.”
He also emphasized, “In the witness of the Vietnam President, the leaders of the Party, the National Assembly, the Government, we pledge to stay united and make the best efforts for the strong development of the Vietnamese business community, as well as for the development of Vietnam's economy, and for a prosperous Vietnam aiming towards the goal of becoming a developed, civilized and happy country by 2045.”
The Council will continue to recruit new members from all economic sectors, aspires to become the convergence of financial resources, technology, talents, knowledge and professional experience to promote and develop.
