THACO AGRI's HAGL AGRICO Laos Complex joined the recent Laos employment conference held by Quang Nam's Employment Service Center and THACO College.

The Laos employment conference

High-level attendees at the conference included representatives from Quang Nam's Department of Labor and eight district People's Committees and Labor Departments (Nam Tra My, Bac Tra My, Phuoc Son, Nam Giang, Dong Giang, Tay Giang, Dai Loc, and Nui Thanh), as well as the THACO College Board and HAGL AGRICO Laos Complex.

Quang Nam faces a surge in labor demand, particularly at HAGL AGRICO Laos Complex. To address this need, THACO College is set to recruit and train 2,750 students in 2024 for various positions within the complex's farms and factories. The focus will be on fields like cultivation, animal husbandry, mechanics, electrical engineering, and agricultural engineering.

HAGL AGRICO Laos Complex encompasses over 3,200 hectares dedicated to banana cultivation and production across 5 farms, rubber plantations spanning more than 11,000 hectares, served by 4 factories, a cattle farm raising 14,500 heads on over 1,000 hectares, and production facilities for other fruits like grapefruit, mango, and durian.

With a current workforce of over 5,000, including 1,451 Vietnamese workers from Quang Nam province's Nam Giang, Tay Giang, Dong Giang, Phuoc Son, and Bac Tra My districts, HAGL AGRICO Laos Complex is on a significant growth trajectory. By the end of 2024, they aim to nearly double their workforce, reaching close to 10,000 employees.

Mr. Alang Nui, a student majoring Animal Husbandry at THACO College, a staff member assigned to work in Laos in April 2024, shared: "The conference helped me better understand the working environment and opportunities at HAGL AGRICO Laos Complex. I am very excited and ready for this new journey.”

Building on the success of the conference, THACO AGRI and HAGL AGRICO Laos Complex will partner with Quang Nam's Employment Service Center and THACO College to host job fairs throughout the province. This collaborative effort aims to ensure clear communication of job opportunities to potential employees, facilitating a smooth transition for workers seeking suitable positions.
