THILOGI'S "safety shield"
Workplace safety is more than just following rules. It protects people and property while keeping business running smoothly. At THILOGI, workers operate around the clock at warehouses, ports, parking lots, and packaging factories. The Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) department constantly monitors these areas and responds to any dangerous situations.
Safe and professional work environment
THILOGI's OSH Department has five employees. They monitor and control risks across all production areas, including the wharf, warehouse, port yard, packing workshop, container unloading area, repair area, and offices. Their main job is preventing accidents and injuries while protecting company property. This keeps the logistics chain running without interruption.
The company operates in a unique environment. Forklifts, shore cranes, conveyor belts, and heavy machinery run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, which could create safety risks like collisions, fires, explosions, and falls. So, the OSH team stays alert and focused, constantly checking each area to spot problems early and respond quickly to minimize damage.
Besides on-site supervision, the department also evaluates risks at different activities, areas, vehicles, and equipment. The team builds procedures for preventing and responding to accidents. They regularly inspect and maintain fire prevention systems, track safety training records of units, monitor truck routes, and work with other departments to improve working conditions.
"At THILOGI, vehicles and equipment run continuously at high intensity. Just one minute of carelessness can cause serious problems. We not only check safety according to procedures and company rules, but also closely watch each work area and handle situations as they arise. Every member of our team strictly follows procedures to help ensure safety and keep the system running," said Mr. Nguyen Van Phap, the OSH Manager.
Building a safety culture
The OSH Department does more than just monitor and respond to problems on-site. They are playing a key role in training workers, gradually building a safety culture at THILOGI.
Every year, the team delivers on-site training and drills for all THILOGI staff on workplace safety, fire prevention, rescue operations, and oil spill response. Such training focuses especially on operations teams, drivers, technical workers, and specialized safety staff. Joining the training, workers improve their skills in handling situations, operating fire equipment, using protective gear properly, giving first aid, and escaping during emergencies.
THILOGI's safety department also works regularly with local fire police departments to organize specialized training courses and assessments. Each staff receive certificates for each job type, enhancing their safety work compliant with legal requirements.
Mr. Nguyen Chi Cong, an employee of the Labor Safety Department, said: "The company consistently runs education campaigns, training, and strict checks on safety rule compliance. This helps us raise our awareness, take adequate caution in our work, and actively prevent risks. We hope this could contribute to building a professional, safe, and effective work environment."
THILOGI is gradually building a culture of workplace safety and health in production and business. This starts with following work procedures and improving the ability to identify risks in each operation and work position. "Safety culture is built from actions like checking equipment before operating, turning off power after use, wearing full protective equipment, or smoking in designated areas," Mr. Cong explained.
With high responsibility, solid expertise, and dedication, the safety team at THILOGI is a strong "safety shield." They play an important role in protecting people and property while maintaining smooth operations throughout the entire system. This contributes to building a civilized and convenient work environment.
