THILOGI organizes fire and rescue drill
To improve fire safety knowledge and skills for employees, from June 8 to 10, at Chu Lai Port, THILOGI organized a fire and rescue drill for 140 employees from its affiliated companies.
In the drill, the context given was outside warehouses 6A and 7A, someone had thrown out a lit cigarette which followed the wind into the goods packages and started a fire. The fire then spread to the 2 mentioned warehouses and risked spreading to other warehouses. At this moment, 7 workers were working in the warehouses, among whom one was stuck in the fire area and one was suffocated by the fire smoke. As soon as the fire alarm rang, the fire force immediately alarmed the whole company, promptly pulled employees to the scene to carry out the fire fighting, rescuing people in distress and protecting the assets. Receiving the fire alarm from THILOGI, the THACO Chu Lai Fire Prevention and Control team mobilized forces and vehicles (2 fire engines and 1 ambulance) to coordinate the firefighting, give first aid to victims, protect people lives and minimize property damage.
Firefighting and rescue drills are practical enough to help employees understand the risks of fire and explosion at the workplace, firefighting procedures, how to use firefighting tools and equipment, how to deliver first aids, raising the awareness and skills to handle fire and explosion, especially in the long hot season.
Besides the drills, THILOGI also makes efforts in raising the awareness among its staff in fire protection, installing high-quality fire-protection systems according to regulations, and strengthening the inspection at companies and units, ensuring the company's production and business activities.
