THILOGI inaugurates Chu Lai Port’s 50,000-DWT berth and exports first shipments of 2025
On February 3, 2025, THILOGI inaugurated the 50,000-DWT berth of Chu Lai Port, and exported the first shipments of 2025 from THACO’s Sub-holdings to different countries.

Chu Lai Port is ranked as type-1 seaport according to Vietnam's seaport system development plan during 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister. To develop the port up to its scale and cargo throughput, becoming a major trade hub and logistics center for the Central Vietnam and Central Highlands regions, connecting Southern Laos and Northern Cambodia, on March 7, 2024, the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee approved the project to expand and upgrade Chu Lai Port, part of the Tam Hiep Port complex, with a total investment of VND 1,590 billion.

The construction of Wharf No. 2 (50,000-DWT berth) extends 365 meters downstream, connecting to Wharf No. 1, increasing the total length of Chu Lai Port to 836 meters, with a depth of 11.6 meters. Using advanced steel pipe pile technology, the wharf ensures the accommodation of general cargo ships and container ships up to 50,000 tons. Additionally, THILOGI has invested in infrastructure and modern loading equipment, helping the port handle nearly 100 containers per hour, three times that of Wharf No. 1.

Chu Lai Port holds a strategic position, seamlessly connecting with major arteries of Quang Nam and the Central Vietnam region. It serves as a critical gateway, integrating with Vietnam’s North-South axis and the international East-West economic corridor. The port also functions as a center for multimodal transportation, including trucking, sea port, maritime transport, Chu Lai rail and airport connections.
With the goal of developing into an international logistics hub in Chu Lai, Quang Nam, to equalize costs with the northern and southern regions, THILOGI focuses on deep development investment, completing key projects, and investing in infrastructure and equipment. This contributes to completing the logistics supply chain, boosting production, and leveraging the region's potential and advantages.

On this occasion, over 300 containers of goods from THACO's Sub-holdings were exported through Chu Lai Port to various countries, carrying the hope and expectation of a new year with new successes.
