THACO has reached the localization ratios for its vehicles as follows: 35-40% for trucks, 55-60% for buses, and 15-23% for cars. Between now and 2021, THACO will continue to invest in its Chu Lai Automobile Manufacture and Assembly Complex to upgrade the capacities of current auto factories while promoting the development of supporting industry plants, aiming to develop the Truong Hai Automotive Mechanical Complex, not just an auto manufacturing hub as many people have presumed.

In addition to its existing car parts and components factories, THACO is increasing its strategic investment to improve its domestic content by dozens of new supporting industry factory development projects such as plastic component factory, CV air conditioning factory, bus chassis factory, automobile exhaust factory, hydraulic cylinder factory, chemical factory, automobile alloy wheel factory, automobile fuel tank factory, and passenger car parts factories.

THACO's motto is continuous improvement and investment in new plants with 4.0-standard equipment. Domestic auto assembly in the past few years has provided THACO with more experience, understanding of Vietnam’s road conditions as well as the taste of local consumers. Regarding export orientation, THACO has started the construction of a new bus factory with a capacity of 20,000 buses a year, and a new truck factory of 100,000 vehicles a year. Moreover, THACO always seeks to reduce production costs, shipping costs, input materials, and energy consumption. All are to provide Vietnamese consumers with the most affordable cars with the best quality and to export vehicles to ASEAN countries at 0% import tariff.

Currently, THACO is receiving orders to export buses to Thailand and and seeking partners to export vehicles to Singapore. In the near future, THACO will accelerate the localization ratio of trucks from 40% upwards to enjoy the 0% import tariff in ASEAN.
