THACO - "Strong but loving, business but sympathetic"

Building social constructions
Every year, THACO always donates a large part of the fund to support Fund for the needy in many provinces and cities across the country to build infrastructure works to serve the people. More specifically, the automaker constructed gratitude houses for disadvantaged households in their lives. Amidst the barren wasteland, many spacious and stable houses sprouted up, promising to help difficult families in terms of accommodation.
Along with building people's houses, THACO also supports the development of transportation in many localities. In Mekong Delta’s Dong Thap province, Nguyen Van Tiep A canal is always flooded and causes difficulties for traffic every rainy season. Under these circumstances, THACO contributed VND5 billion to the total cost of VND13 billion to build Doc Binh Kieu Bridge which connects the canal banks. The construction started on September 4, 2019 in the joy of the local residents. The bridge is an urgent desire for easier travel, especially for students. Earlier on January 9, 2019, five rural bridges that the Company sponsored were also handed over to Long An province. These are 5 of more than 20 rural bridges that THACO has funded in 2018 and 2019.

On a larger scale, the project of 2-level intersection in Tam Hiep Commune, Nui Thanh District, Quang Nam Province is a major project that THACO contributes to the society. With an investment of up to VND600 billion (from 100% of enterprise capital), the project has contributed significantly to the development of the whole region: solving the traffic congestion through Chu Lai Economic Zone, completing the planned transportation network, creating a beautiful landscape icon to boost the development of the local tourism industry.
Helping the needy through hardship
Every spring, THACO organizes a working group to visit, encourage and give gifts to low-income households in many localities across the country. In the Lunar New Year of 2018, THACO donated VND25 billion, while the sponsorship in 2019 Lunar New Year was VND35 billion. Such amounts were granted to "Fund for the needy" in the "Social Security" program of 42 provinces and cities across the country to help disadvantaged families, orphans, people with disabilities, lonely elders ... having a better Tet festival.

Another significant activity is blood donation. Recognizing the shortage of blood reserve for medical examination and treatment, June is the time when THACO launches humanitarian blood donation program, implementing on a system-wide scale. From large office blocks in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Chu Lai to branches across the country, they all joined enthusiastically in the program. At Thaco Chu Lai Industrial Park, a "blood bank" has been established, always ready for emergencies. This tradition of blood donation has been maintained by THACO for the past 12 years, contributing nearly 20,000 units of blood for medical examination and treatment nationwide.
Interested in the field of education
Not stopping at supporting materially, THACO also always attaches great importance to the contribution to the development of spiritual life, especially cultural and educational activities. Over the years, the Company has sponsored thousands of scholarships for poor and learning-oriented students to overcome difficulties. Among them is the Fight for Future Fund organized by Dong Nai newspaper, THACO has sponsored this scholarship fund for 7 consecutive years, with the amount of up to VND3 billion.

Besides, THACO also contributes to fostering and finding talents for the country. These include Road to Olympia, a famous knowledge contest on Vietnam Television. Since 2017, with nearly VND80 billion of funding in 5 years, THACO has accompanied many champions to conquer the pinnacle of knowledge. On a smaller scale, since 2016, THACO has also sponsored Quang Nam Student Competition, an interesting and meaningful game show for the high school students in Quang Nam province. With these knowledge playgrounds, THACO has contributed to lighting the fire of passion for learning, raising the sense of responsibility in the students with the development of society and the country.
In fact, the above activities are only a very small part in the implementation of social responsibility that THACO has implemented over the years. THACO is a living proof: the development of a business does not stop at profits, it is the social values it has created or contributed to spread out that demonstrate such path is appropriate and sustainable.
