THACO sponsors Vietnam Rural Half Marathon 2025
On January 4 and 5, the Tri Ton district in An Giang province hosted the Vietnam Rural Half Marathon 2025 with the theme "Tri Ton - Return to the Legendary Land." THACO sponsored the event.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Dao Si Tuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, Mr. Cao Quang Liem, Chairman of the Tri Ton District People's Council, Mr. Nguyen Van Be Tam, Chairman of the Tri Tôn District People's Committee (DPC), Mr. Tran Minh Giang, Vice Chairman of the Tri Ton DPC and Head of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Nguyen Duc Quang, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Association of Agriculture and Rural Development and Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Rural Magazine, along with other local government leaders. Mr. Pham Duc Vu, THAGRICO An Giang Vice Director attended the event.
The Vietnam Rural Half Marathon 2025 is the first large-scale sports event organized by the Tri Ton DPC in collaboration with Vietnam Rural Magazine. The event attracted around 3,000 athletes from various provinces, cities, and countries, including professional, semi-professional, and amateur runners.
In his opening speech, Mr. Tran Minh Giang, Vice Chairman of the Tri Ton DPC and Head of the Organizing Committee, stated: "The Vietnam Rural Half Marathon 2025 is a significant cultural, sports, and tourism event aimed at promoting the natural beauty, rich cuisine, and traditional cultural values of Tri Ton, as well as the hospitality of its people, to a wide audience of visitors in and outside the district."
Participants competed in three distances: 5km, 10km, and 21km. The race route offered athletes the opportunity to explore famous landmarks, culture, and people of Tri Ton.
At the closing ceremony, the organizers awarded prizes to athletes who achieved outstanding results in each distance, with categories for both men and women.
By sponsoring the marathon, THACO aims not only to promote the local beauty to friends both domestically and internationally but also to spread the spirit of sportsmanship and community bonding.
