On January 15 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Writers' Association held their 2025 planning conference, awarded the Vietnam Writers' Association Literary Awards 2024, and conducted a membership induction ceremony. This event marked the fourth consecutive year that THACO sponsored the Association’s Young Author Award.

The Vietnam Writers' Association Literary Awards are prestigious annual literary awards that honor and recognize outstanding literary works while encouraging authors to keep contributing to the development of national literature. The Young Author Award is a significant category within this award system, providing young writers with opportunities to showcase their talents and introduce their works to the public.

In 2024, the organizing committee received 21 entries for the Young Author Award, including 11 prose works and 10 poetry collections. After several rounds of evaluation, the award was given to Mr. Vo Dang Khoa for his short story collection "Flying Camel" and Ms. Phung Huong Ly for her poetry collection "Under the Great Flower Dome."

Additionally, the Vietnam Writers' Association awarded the 2024 Impressive Female Writer Award to Ms. Do Thi Tac from Lai Chau and Phuong Huyen from Ho Chi Minh City.

Writer Nguyen Quang Thieu presents 7 awards to the best literary works in Vietnam Writers' Association Literary Awards 2024

Besides the Young Author Award, the Vietnam Writers' Association presented seven awards for the best works, selected from 208 nominated works, including 71 prose works, 85 poetry collections, 15 critical theory works, 12 translations, and 25 children's literature works.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quang Thieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers' Association, stated that despite the many challenges in 2024, the Association had come together to overcome difficulties. Stepping into 2025, the Association plans to organize more activities, such as the 23rd Vietnam Poetry Day, the 50th anniversary of national reunification activities, and preparations for the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Writers' Association for the 2025-2030 term.

Since 2021, THACO has been a partner of the Young Author Award, aiming to nurture young literary talents, encourage creative spirit, and provide young writers with more opportunities to introduce their works to the public, contributing to the development of Vietnamese literature and arts.
