BRT is included in the category of controlling equipment and software of Hanoi Urban Transport Development Project which uses the capital from the World Bank. These are the vehicles that THACO designs and manufactures especially for this project on the European-standard (G7) high-tech lines with the specifications which are applied in Vietnam for the first time, namely:

Hino engines are imported from Japan, qualify the Euro III emission standards, and are friendly to the environment. The 6-speed automatic transmission ZF system, front and rear axles, and the disc brake mechanism in 4 wheels are very modern. All are supplied by the famous ZF Group - Germany. The air suspension system operates smoothly, combined with the automatic control system for floor lifting of Bosch Group from Germany. Besides, the system of left-wing doors is applied in Vietnam for the first time, which makes it convenient for the bus in approaching the terminals and the anti-door-jam sensor system ensures maximum safety for passengers.

Rapid bus transit BRT line from station Yen Nghia to Kim Ma is about 14.7 km in length, one of the three components in the project Development of Urban Transport in Hanoi using resources of the World Bank. The deployment of BRT bus component is done in accordance with the international bidding procedure and under close cooperation of the World Bank.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Vu Ha, Director of Hanoi Urban Transport Project Management Unit said: "In case that the public transport capacity of Hanoi is still limited, putting the BRT into trial operation will contribute to improve the system of public passenger transport in the city. Along with other kinds of public passenger transport, BRT helps to provide a new transportation method to gradually build a civilized and modern travelling lifestyle."

As planned, the BRT 01 will serve passengers 17 hours a day, from 5:00-22:00. Weekday frequency is 358 traveling turns, with 5-10-15 minutes / turn, especially, the bus turns on Sundays are 264. Tickets on the fast BRT bus route 01 will also be used as the regular bus fare, VND 7,000 / turn and passengers will get free tickets in the first month of operation (from 1-31 January 2017).
