On April 23, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society held a ceremony to launch Humanitarian Month 2023 and to celebrate the 160th anniversary of the international Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Attending the program were Vietnam President Vo Van Thuong, leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, central ministries, branches and localities.

THACO President Pham Van Tai attended the event and received "The Golden Heart" medal and flower from the Vietnam President and the Red Cross Society. So far, the Vietnamese corporation has been making plenty of donations to the Red Cross, e.g. VND15 billion for the Nutrition for Poor and Disabled Children (2023 - 2027) program, VND10 billion to build 200 charity houses in Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue provinces in response to Vietnam Red Cross's "Safety for poor fishermen" campaign during the Humanitarian Month 2022.

At the ceremony, organizations, businesses and individuals pledged to support the Humanitarian Month 2023 with a total amount of more than VND485 billion. After 5 years in operation, the Humanitarian Month campaign has raised more than VND2,050 billion, helping over 4.3 million poor and disadvantaged people, contributing to raising social awareness and compassion towards others.
