THACO leads auto sales in May
Sales by VAMA member-manufacturers edged up to 101,489 units during the first five months of 2018, including commercial vehicles, passenger cars and special-purpose vehicles, the association noted.
During the first five months, THACO sales reached 42,438 vehicles (including 26,850 passenger cars and 15,588 commercial vehicles).
The HCM City-based company also led the sales in May with 8,748 units, followed by Toyota Motor Corp.
At the same time, four of THACO’s models found themselves among the 10 best-selling passenger cars. Specifically, Mazda3 sedan ranked third with 1,139 cars;
The Mazda CX5 has made a remarkable comeback with 1,055 vehicles, winning the fourth place. It was also the best-selling SUV /crossover in the market in May
Kia Cerato continued its growth momentum with sales of 1,045 units, ranking fifth;
Kia Morning held the No. 7 place with 849 vehicles sold in the month.
