Thaco launches new Peugeot 3008 and 5008 SUVs in Vietnam

Among the VIPs at the launch were Mr. Do Thang Hai - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Pham Tan Cong - Deputy Secretary of the Central Party Committee, Mr. Le Van Thanh - Vice Chairman of Quang Nam People's Committee, Mr. Olivier SIGAUD - First Counsel, French Embassy in Hanoi, and Mr. Matthieu Lefort – Country Director of Business France. Peugeot representatives included Mr. Jean-Philippe Imparato - Peugeot Brand CEO, and Mr. Dennis Martin, PSA Asia CEO.
On THACO's side, Chairman Tran Ba Duong, General Director Nguyen Hung Minh and THACO Board of Directors attended the program. The event also attracted over 80 reporters.

With a history of over 200 years, Peugeot is PSA’s European car brand that was brought back to Vietnam by THACO in 2013. In 2016, Peugeot started to develop a new generation of products which have received high appreciation from the experts and global customers. The 5008 & 3008 duo is the next-generation Peugeot SUVs with revolutions in design, technology, and safety. What sets these two Peugeot SUVs aside in the SUV segment is the new i-cockpit interior design philosophy. With this design, Peugeot vehicles become completely outstanding, unique, and unmistakable with any other products on the market. The newly-launched new generation Peugeot vehicles have made a sales record in the European and Asian markets and won various global awards such as Car of the Year 2017, RedDot Design awards.

To make it quicker for customers to own the dual, on December 5, 2017, THACO also announced the car prices in line with to the zero-percent CKD tax policy, which are also the prices for 2018 when the excise duty on 2.0-litre-engine vehicles decreases by 5%. Accordingly, Peugeot 3008 is sold at VND1.159 billion and Peugeot 5008 at VND1.349 billion.

Following the car launching ceremony, in the evening of December 9, THACO held a Gala dinner in Sala City in Ho Chi Minh City with the attendance of leaders from THACO Auto Retail Division, Personal Car (PC) Company and more than 300 loyal Peugeot customers. The program was to send deep gratitude to customers who have been loyal to the Peugeot brand during the past time. With warm atmosphere and well-prepared music performances, the party has left a profound impression in the customers’ hearts. This is one of the meaningful activities to connect customers with the Peugeot brand.
Previously, on December 2 and 3, in order to offer the press the opportunity to have first-hand experience of the features of the all-new Peugeot SUVs 5008 and 3008, THACO held "NEW GENERATION SUV EXPERIENCE" event for auto journalists to get a test drive on the dual on the northern Hanoi-Moc Chau route. After the program, the car review experts from prestigious auto newspapers have made highly positive comments about the design, technology and features of the all-new duo.
