On Feb. 12, the "THACO Marathon For Traffic Safety - Sa Thay 2023" took place in Kon Tum province - a trail race run by the National Traffic Safety Committee in collaboration with the Traffic Newspaper, the People's Committee of Sa Thay District and New Race Joint Stock Company with the sponsorship of THACO.

The race was an event among the activities of Traffic Safety 2023 program, as well as to celebrate the 110th anniversary of Kon Tum province (Feb. 9, 1913 - Feb. 9, 2023). Participating in the tournament were over 1,000 athletes, including 300 from Kon Tum province, 500 from neighboring provinces and 200 Vietnamese and foreign nonagent athletes. The athletes participated in 4 categories: 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km. In the 42km race, athletes ran across the Ngok Ring Rua mountain, Base 1015 (Charlie Hill) and Base 1049 (Delta).

Sponsoring the running race, THACO wanted not only to promote the sports and health training in the local people, but also to communicate the message "Traffic safety - Happiness for everyone" to raise people's awareness of complying with the traffic laws, minimizing traffic accidents.

Participating in the 10km race, Mr. Khuat Viet Hung, Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee, said that educating and communicating the traffic laws is a year-round assignment which is implemented in many forms, with different activities, including the organization of sports events that can attract the attention of a large number in the community.

With THACO's companion, the THACO Marathon For Traffic Safety - Sa Thay 2023 was also expected to introduce and promote Kon Tum tourism in particular, the homeland and people of the Central Highlands in particular to international friends.
