THACO opens HCM City Office Sports Festival 2024

On August 26, THACO hosted the grand opening of the HCM City Sports Festival 2024 at the Sala football field.

The opening ceremony was graced by THACO's Board of Directors and representatives from the Trade Union and Youth Union. Athletes from four teams, including THACO Alliance (comprising THACO International Staff Boards, THACO INDUSTRIES, THACO AGRI, and THILOGI), THACO AUTO, THADICO, and THISO, participated in the festival. The competition featured seven sports: men's football, badminton, running, tug of war, swimming, chess, and table tennis.

Addressing the attendees at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Van Tai, THACO President, emphasized, 'This marks the third year of THACO's "Connecting Strength - Connecting Success" Sports Festival, a platform designed to foster camaraderie, teamwork, and unity among our employees. The event also reinforces our commitment to a positive work culture and collective efforts towards achieving new milestones. I encourage all athletes to maintain their enthusiasm and compete with utmost determination, delivering exciting matches and setting new records.’

Immediately following the opening ceremony, the festival captivated the audience with two thrilling football matches: THACO Alliance versus Emart Sala and THADICO 2 versus THADICO 4. The players showcased their exceptional skills, producing impressive plays and stunning goals. Combining youth and experience with a technical and versatile playing style, the THACO Alliance team emerged victorious over Emart Sala with a score of 4-1. Similarly, THADICO 2 defeated THADICO 4 by a score of 4-2.

As the hat-trick scorer in the opening match, Mr. Pham Hong Thuyen from the THACO Alliance team said: “This sports festival not only promotes a healthy lifestyle but also serves as a platform for colleagues to bond, connect, and offer mutual support both professionally and personally. With their unwavering determination, I am confident that the team will achieve remarkable success this season.”

The THACO HCM Office Sports Festival 2024 will continue until September 27, promising to deliver thrilling and engaging matches that showcase the athletes' unity and determination.

Previously, the soccer tournament component of the THILOGI Sports Festival 2024 officially concluded on August 19 following a week of spirited competition.

The closing ceremony was preceded by thrilling soccer finals. Packing Company and THILOGI Office Alliance & Shipping Company battled it out in the men's division, while Transportation and Chu Lai Port faced off in the women's division. With skillful passes, impressive goals, and a competitive spirit, Chu Lai Port's men and Packing Company's women claimed victory and the championship title.

Following the THILOGI Sports Festival, the men's and women's soccer teams will keep on training to prepare for the THACO Chu Lai Sports Festival, scheduled for early September 2024.
