THACO introduces the double-decker tour bus
After more than a year of research, THACO Research and Development Center's specialist engineers have launched the European-standard double-decker tour bus which applies the most advanced technology, meeting strict quality requirements, and making the ideal means for sightseeing in tourist cities and beautiful landscapes.
The double-decker sightseeing bus is a special bus for tourism, produced with components imported directly from Germany, Japan, and South Korea. The bus consists of 2 decks with a roof top, clear space and visibility, suitable for sightseeing activities. The bus is equipped with a mini bar, a multi-language touch screen display system incorporating GPS navigation system which automatically provides destinations, parking points for foreign travelers.
The body and chassis of the bus are designed according to Full Monocoque technology, the most advanced technology in the world today. Hino engines are imported from Japan. 6-speed automatic transmission, front and rear axles, disc brakes, pneumatic suspension and steering systems are imported from ZF Group - Germany. The automatic transmission incorporates a modern hydraulic braking system, a pneumatic suspension system, combined with Electronic Controlled Air Suspension system (Germany) to keep the car stable and safe on every road condition. This is a special dedicated system applicable to European-standard bus models, with which buses in Vietnam have not been equipped.
Speaking at the handover of the double-decker buses, Mr Mai Phuoc Nghe, THACO Deputy General Director, said: "THACO handed over 12 buses for the early operation of the Empire Group's Coco City Tour. Each bus consists of 54 seats - 42 on the upper deck and 12 on the lower deck. Da Nang, a tourist destination with well-invested infrastructure is a well-known resort of Vietnam. It is perceived that the investment in tourism development in Da Nang, especially the type of city sightseeing tour on the double-decker tour buses offered by the Empire Group is a breakthrough which pioneers the bus tour, contributing to the city's growth and professionalism in serving the city's visitors. In the world, the double-decker bus tours are now available in Berlin (Germany), New York (the U.S.), Rome (Italy), and Singapore, etc. It is hoped that the cooperation between THACO and Empire will bring practical effects, improve the comfort for visitors, and increase the love of visitors to Da Nang tourism in particular. We believe that only in a short time, this type of sightseeing tour with double-decker buses will be widespread in many tourist cities, opening a new direction for Vietnam tourism.
