THACO INDUSTRIES inaugurates automotive component plants and R&D Center
On February 3, 2025, THACO INDUSTRIES held the inauguration ceremony for its large-scale automotive component plants and R&D Center, featuring modern technology, spanning a total area of 8 hectares with an investment value exceeding VND 2,500 billion.

The THACO INDUSTRIES R&D Center, built on an area of 30,000 square meters, includes a design center, a material testing and product trial center, a prototype production workshop, and a multifunctional hall, with a total investment of nearly $40 million. The center is equipped with modern testing and experimental equipment, such as metal microstructure analysis devices, light penetration test equipment, devices to measure color uniformity on plastic substrates, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and advanced design and simulation software. It is staffed by over 1,000 experienced specialists and engineers to implement product R&D, meeting the needs of THACO's Sub-holdings, domestic customers and partners, and exports.

The Automotive Chassis and Body Parts Plant, with a total investment of $30 million, is built on an area of 15,000 square meters and features modern equipment and production lines, including a multi-stage stamping system consisting of four machines (one 1,600-ton press, one 1,000-ton press, and two 800-ton presses), along with automatic feeding robots, 3D laser cutting machines, welding robots, forming robots, and stamping machines with forces ranging from 50 tons to 1,000 tons. The factory has an annual capacity of 50,000 sets of truck cabin components, 5,000 sets of bus components, 200,000 sets of passenger car bodies, and 500,000 sets of other mechanical stamped parts. It also features chassis stamping equipment for light to heavy trucks and tractors, with a 6,300-ton press and welding and assembly lines producing 50,000 chassis sets per year.

The Automotive Premium Glass Plant spans 15,000 square meters with a total capital of $25 million. The factory includes a production line for car glass with an annual capacity of 300,000 sets, featuring new technology with 3D tempering furnaces, high-precision molding, fully automated cutting, grinding, drilling, silk-screen printing, and film lamination processes that meet the quality standards of international automotive brands. It also includes a production line for truck and bus glass with 150,000 sets per year.

The Automotive Electrical Equipment Plant, built on an area of 20,000 square meters with a total investment of $20 million, has an annual capacity of 150,000 wiring harnesses and 50,000 sets of automotive electronic components. The factory is equipped with multifunctional integrated production lines and machinery, featuring automated cutting, crimping, and stripping processes, along with specialized assembly conveyors and quality control systems that adhere to international standards, ensuring output and export requirements.
The launch of these automotive component factories will contribute to forming a regional automotive component production center, along with the new R&D Center and Mechanical Engineering Center. This solidifies THACO INDUSTRIES' pioneering role in developing the mechanical engineering and supporting industries in Vietnam and deeper participation in the global value chain.
