THACO sponsors Golden Steering Wheel Award 2024
On December 27, in Hanoi, the National Traffic Safety Committee, in collaboration with Giao Thong Newspaper, held the Golden Steering Wheel Award 2024 ceremony with the theme "Upholding Law Compliance to Build Traffic Culture." THACO was a sponsor of the program.
The Golden Steering Wheel is a national award held annually to honor transport businesses and drivers who contribute to maintaining traffic order and safety, raising awareness of traffic safety regulations.
To win the Golden Steering Wheel Award 2024, drivers must meet criteria such as: not causing any serious traffic accidents from 2021 to 2023, not causing any traffic accidents, no administrative penalties, and achieving a minimum safe driving distance in 2024. Drivers also exhibit professional ethics, be exemplary, and actively promote traffic safety regulations among colleagues, family, and the community.
For businesses, units must have at least 20 vehicles, all vehicles must be equipped with journey monitoring devices, 50% of drivers must have contracts of one year or more, all drivers must have insurance as required, and no vehicles should violate load or passenger limits in 2024.
This year, the organizers awarded the Golden Steering Wheel title to 30 teams and 60 individuals, and the Traffic Culture Award to 15 teams and individuals. Over 12 years, 554 drivers and 230 transport businesses have received the award.
2024 marks the 9th year THACO has supported the Golden Steering Wheel award, recognizing the efforts of drivers and transport units in maintaining safety on every journey and contributing to building a safe, modern, and civilized traffic environment.
