On March 2, the Ho Chi Minh City Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients (SAPP) partnered with Tay Nam Eye Hospital to host the "Light for the Needy" program. This initiative provided free cataract surgery to 200 underprivileged individuals from Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding provinces, including Tien Giang, Binh Phuoc, Ben Tre, and Long An. THACO served as the program's sponsor.

Attending the program were Ms. Vo Thi Dung, Former Vice Party Secretary of HCM City, Ms. Truong Thi Anh, Vice Chairman of SAPP, THACO's representative, and the medical team of Tay Nam Eye Hospital.

During the program, the Vice Chairman of SAPP expressed her gratitude to THACO for its invaluable contributions. They acknowledged THACO's role in enabling the organization to provide care and improve the lives and well-being of patients nationwide.

“Light for the Needy” has been implemented by the SAPP since 1997. To date, the program has performed over 700,000 free eye surgeries.

In January 2024, THACO made a contribution of VND2 billion to the SAPP in honor of the Association's 30th anniversary. These funds will be used by the Association to support free cataract surgeries for underprivileged patients and heart surgeries for children in 2024.
