THACO champions Dong Nai provincial school football
The opening ceremony of the 20th Dong Nai Newspaper - C.P. Vietnam’s Children's Football Tournament was held on August 8 at the Dong Nai Province Sports Training and Competition Center.
The ceremony was attended by Dong Nai officials including Mr. Huynh Thanh Binh, Standing Party Member and Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee’s Inspection Committee; Mr. Nguyen Son Hung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Dao Van Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of Dong Nai Newspaper and Head of the Organizing Committee; as well as leaders from provincial departments, branches, and sectors. Mr. Tran Dao Minh Huu, the General Director of THACO AUTO Bien Hoa (Dong Nai), was also present.
Through this tournament, THACO aims to create a meaningful and healthy sporting environment to promote children’s physical well-being. The company also hopes to identify and cultivate young, passionate football talent to contribute to the growth of Vietnamese football.
Previously, Mr. Nguyen Mot, the THACO Corporate Culture and Communications Senior Director remarked: “Dong Nai Newspaper’s consistent dedication to providing a platform for young football enthusiasts across the province for the past 20 years is commendable. THACO is proud to partner with the newspaper in this endeavor. Together, we aim to foster school football and the overall sports movement for continued growth and development.”
Beyond the school football tournament, THACO has maintained a long-term partnership with Dong Nai Newspaper for the "Overcoming Difficulties for the Future" scholarship program. To date, THACO has contributed nearly VND 3.2 billion, enabling over 1,600 scholarships to be awarded to deserving students.
The 20th Dong Nai Newspaper - C.P. Vietnam’s Children's Football Tournament is held from August 8 to 14. Eleven primary school football teams from various districts and cities within Dong Nai province compete in the tournament. Divided into two groups, the teams play a round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals. The winning team will be awarded a prize of VND 20 million, a championship trophy, flag, and gold medals. The runners-up will receive VND 15 million, a flag, and silver medals. Both third-place teams will be presented with VND 10 million, a flag, and bronze medals. Additionally, the best fair-play team will be honored with VND 3 million prizes, and so will individual awards for Best Goalkeeper, Top Scorer, and Best Player. Over the past 19 years, the Dong Nai Newspaper - C.P. Vietnam tournament has established itself as a sporting event making significant contributions to the growth of school football in Dong Nai province. |
