Firstly, please allow me, on behalf of THACO’s Executive Committee and 17 thousand employees, to send you the warmest and most respected greetings!

Ladies and gentlemen!

In 2011 THACO began its cooperation with the Japanese Mazda Group, starting construction and then putting into operation the Vina Mazda plant with the initial capacity of 10,000 vehicles per year, which was raised to 30,000 vehicles per year in 2014. The plant has produced most of the best-selling Mazda models (Mazda2, Mazda3, Mazda6, and Mazda CX-5). So far, THACO has sold over 92,000 Mazda cars, bringing the brand to the second-best-selling Japanese car brand in the Vietnamese auto market. Besides, THACO has successfully built up the Mazda’s 3S-standard distribution system including 44 showrooms and dealers across Vietnam.

Embracing the Development strategy of the Vietnamese auto industry towards 2025, vision to 2035, approved by the Prime Minister in 2014, as well as towards the integration into ASEAN markets in 2018, especially entering the Industrial Revolution 4.0 which includes automation and mass customization, earning customers’ preference, THACO has acquired high market shares over the time, which results in its growing auto market in the coming time. THACO has developed new strategies on developing new auto manufacturing and assembling factories, namely: factories for Kia, Mazda cars, premium personal cars (PC), buses, trucks, and auto parts to raise the localization rate to over 40% to meet the requirements on car exports to ASEAN.

Particularly, THACO Mazda is the biggest Mazda plant in ASEAN with avant-garde technology, complete automation to manufacture the 7th generation Mazda models. The plant’s manufacturing lines are provided by renowned equipment manufacturers in Europe and Japan. Until now we have completed over 70% of the working schedule, and plan to put the factory into operations by March 24, 2018 for the 43th anniversary of Quang Nam province liberation, after one year of construction.

Ladies and gentlemen!

Among the Mazda lineup, CX-5 is the globally favorite CUV. Likewise, in Vietnam, the CX-5 is also the most preferred CUV which has gained the sales of over 25,000 cars. Following current market trends, today, THACO would like to present you the all-new Mazda CX-5 with fuel economy and environment friendliness. 

The new Mazda CX-5 features an exquisite exterior design, an impressive grille with modern 3D accents, a smart electric cargo cover with anti-jam and memorized opening-angle sensor, smart LEDs with automatic brightness adjustment, luxury and comfortable interior space with modern technologies such as: G-Vectoring control (GVC), Rear-cross Traffic Alert (RCTA); Blind spot Monitoring (BSM), Lane Keep Assist System (LAS), Auto Hold to hold the brakes, and parking sensors…

The car safety system provides 6 air bags. According to Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the new Mazda CX-5 has excellently won the safest car award (Top safety pick+), rated 5 stars by prestigious car assessment programs as Euro NCAP, Australian NCAP.  This car model is hoped to provide optimum use values to customers with its latest technology and functions.

As a major Vietnamese automaker, THACO takes responsibilities in stabilizing the market and offering real values to consumers. Over the time, THACO has taken the lead in cutting car prices in accordance with 2018 integration policy in which exports tariff becomes zero. The prices that we announced today are already based on the zero-percent auto parts imports tariff. At the same time, the new prices will be publicized when the excise tax on 2.0 liter-or-less vehicles will decrease by 5% starting on January 1, 2018.

The new prices are set by the manufacturer and are the best prices at the moment. We will make adjustments when there are forex changes or new tax policies which have implications on business and manufacture operations. Then, we will try to reduce the car prices when earning customers’ confidence and high sales.

Amid the price fluctuations in the Vietnamese auto market and after the storms and floods had hit the central area, we have overcome the conditions to keep up with the schedule of building the THACO Mazda plant and timely offered the desirable car product.
