THACO AUTO exports Kia New Carnival painted bodies and components to India
From Chu Lai Port in Quang Nam province, THACO AUTO has successfully shipped the first batch of painted bodies and components for the Kia New Carnival to India, marking a milestone following THACO AUTO and Kia India’s production and export agreement valued at approximately $50 million.
In June 2024, THACO AUTO had shipped painted Kia New Carnival bodies and components to India for production and testing. The products met rigorous quality standards and were highly praised by Kia India.
The Kia New Carnival bodies and components are produced at THACO KIA Plant inside the THACO AUTO Complex, one of the leading auto manufacturing centers in Southeast Asia, using advanced technology and equipment transferred from the Kia Corporation. The plant's modern production lines ensure that all products meet Kia's global standards. The color coating process utilizes "wet on wet" technology with an automated paint supply system, resulting in a durable, scratch-resistant, and corrosion-resistant paint finish. Additionally, the body undergoes testing using 3D Coordinate Measuring Machine to guarantee precision and accuracy.
Since 2012, the THACO KIA Plant has been a trusted partner of the Kia Corporation, providing training, supervision, technical support, and production technology consulting to numerous Kia CKD assembly plants in Ecuador, Pakistan, Myanmar, India, Uzbekistan, and other countries.
The recent shipment of the Kia New Carnival painted bodies and components from Chu Lai Port to India was a successful operation. THACO AUTO's partnership with RCL, a leading international container shipping line, allowed for direct transportation to Chennai, Kolkata, and Kattupalli ports in India. This new route has streamlined the import and export process, reducing time and costs, and enhancing the competitiveness of THACO AUTO products in the India market.
In recent years, THACO AUTO has gradually expanded its global reach, exporting vehicles and spare parts to numerous countries including the Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Kazakhstan, and India.
THACO AUTO remains committed to investing in technology research and transfer, automation and digital management to streamline its operations and improve efficiency, enhance production capacity and product quality. Additionally, the company is actively researching market standards and seeking opportunities for international collaboration. In its current phase of development, the company is prioritizing R&D, aiming to master the entire production process from design to product development, focusing on manufacturing the THACO-branded trucks and buses, solidifying its position as a true automaker.
