Press agencies' PRESS CUP 2016 is held to celebrate 91 years of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (21 June 1925 - 21 June 2016). This is also the first time that the competition is organized to enhance the exchange and learning among the reporters and editors; promote and raise awareness on the power of sports activities as well as build solidarity and friendship among the press agencies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Ho Minh Chien expressed his gratitude to the sponsors' concerns and companion for the sports emulation, especially football to develop among press agencies. He shared, previously, football emulations among the press agencies were not in good shape, . so Therefore, he hoped this would be the first professional season, which can connect the units and becomes an annual event in the following years.

This competition is participated by more than 30 press agencies across the country, including teams from major newspapers such as Thanh nien, Tuoi tre, Tien phong, Cong an nhan dan, Dan tri, etc., which promises exciting and fascinating games. THACO accompanies the cup with the sponsorship worth 330 million VND.
