At the ceremony, Mr. Huynh Khanh Toan, Deputy Chairman of Quang Nam Province’s People Committee emphasized the release of Kia Sedona was the important event of not only THACO but also Quang Nam Province in developing automobile industry as the Government’s orientation. At the ceremony, representative of Quang Nam’s Authority offered flowers for representatives of Kia Motor Corporation and Mr. Bui Kim Kha, Vice Presidents of Passenger Car Division granted certificate of appreciation for engineer team of Sedona Project from Korea. Later, representatives of Kia Motor Corporation, Quang Nam Authority, and THACO together conducted the roll-out ceremony for Kia Sedona.

Kia Sedona belongs to high-class multi-purpose vehicle segment. Being firstly released in Vietnam in April 2015, Kia Sedona created a huge attraction to customers. In October 2015, THACO continued to develop 4 more versions with diesel and gasoline engines meeting customers’ various demands. It is considered as one of 10 best interior in 2015 and is now the best-selling car in one of toughest markets like the U.S. The release of Kia Sedona (CKD) not only helps THACO become the manufacturer and distributor of almost all segments of passenger cars but also affirms the right direction of THACO in increasing the localization ratio towards ASEAN integration. Besides, it affirms the effective and strong partnership between THACO and Kia Motor Corporation. Through this event, THACO proved that it is possible for Vietnam to manufacture and assembled cars towards joining the global value chain contributing to the development of auto supporting industries in Vietnam in order to penetrate AFTA and ASEAN market.

On the same day, Chairman of Kia Asia Mr. Jason Yoon and his co-workers visited manufacture activities at Chu Lai Complex and joined the closing meeting of Kia Sedona Project. Accordingly, Kia Sedona CKD was officially allowed for mass production from 29 October 2015.
