In the event, the parties' representatives signed the MOU to transfer assembly and manufacture technology of the new Peugeot products. This is an agreement to strengthen PSA activities in Vietnam by increasing the assembly line of Peugeot cars and introducing 2 new SUVs which will be manufactured at THACO plant in Chu Lai.

The project of the assembly line in Vietnam will kick off in October 2017 to meet the market demands with the total volume of 26,000 cars from 2017-2024. The 2 new SUVs will add to the existing products including Peugeot 208, Peugeot 3008, and Peugeot 508. These are strategic products in the modern range to bring Peugeot to a premium car brand which provides the best technology to Vietnam market.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Tran Ba Duong, THACO Chairman affirmed that this agreement will boost the ambitions of THACO and PSA in terms of the development of Peugeot brand. After 2014-2016 which marks the comeback of Peugeot in Vietnam, the period from now to 2020 is the time to develop dynamic network and Peugeot brand.

On behalf of PSA, Mr Denis Martin shared that the strengthening of THACO cooperation is a part in PSA's long-term strategies in order to increase sales in South East Asia, a strategic region with strong development potentials.
