This is 1 out of 4 topics of the national-level science and technology project "Designing and manufacturing high-end sleeper buses of Vietnamese brand" led by THACO and approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The objective of the research is to develop technological processes, calculation, selection and installation of equipment according to the technological and model assembly line to produce details in the high-end sleeper buses of Vietnamese brand with transfer technology. After one year of implementation, the project has achieved its objectives. The main products of the topic include: exterior composite components; the process, assembly line and equipment to manufacture composite products with VARTM and CSM technologies; design kit of the assembly line for manufacturing composite exterior components; design documents of the molds.

The topic implementation has a major scientific and practical meaning, contributing to improve the quality, use value and aesthetics of the sleeper buses; practically contributing to build scientific and technology products on national level and develop long-distance passenger transportation in VN; while improving localization rates and the competitiveness of THACO passenger cars in preparation for AFTA market by 2018. Besides, the results of the research may be applied to manufacture the composite components of vans, pickup trucks and other consumer products.
