Manual clay modeling

In the Japanese automaker's point of view, "art" should come first from the human hands. For this reason, Mazda has become one of the longest-standing carmakers doing manual clay modeling - a unique form of creativity that brings soul and emotion into the work that no software or machines can do the same.

Mazda's craftsmanship has amazed many by creating 30 clay models of real-scale All-New Mazda3 before the final acceptance for production. Clearly, design has never been a "half-hearted" game at Mazda.

Great design inspiration

RX-Vision and Vision Coupe - winners of the best concept cars in 2016 and 2018 are a great source of design inspiration for All-New Mazda3. Both have a long bonnet, a streamlined body and a short coupe design to create a harmonious and elegant appearance. The convergence of the two concept designs is expressed through two separate All-new Mazda3 models: All-New Mazda3 and All-New Mazda3 Sport.

Traditional Japan design

From the KODO design "Soul of motion", the quintessential values of Japanese traditional art and the concept "Less is more", the All-New Mazda3 is streamlined to a single body which still creates the excitement and vividness of the light shades that change in different perspectives.

Combined with the unique paint colors, the All-New Mazda3 becomes a mirror that reflects the surrounding environment, creating the visual effect: the car is on the move although it is actually standing still.
