THACO executives attend Closing Ceremony of VNU-HCM Student’s Football Tournament - THACO Cup 2024

December 1 saw the final match and closing ceremony of the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) Student’s Football Tournament - THACO Cup 2024 at Di An Stadium, Binh Duong Province. THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong and President Pham Van Tai attended and presented awards to the teams.

The event was graced by the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Vu Hai Quan, Director of VNU-HCM; Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Minh Tam, Deputy Director of VNU-HCM; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Toan, Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper; and Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Ky Phuong Hạ, Vice Rector of the HCMC University of Technology.

After two weeks of intense competition, the HCMC University of Technology and An Giang University teams earned their spots in the final. Having faced each other in the opening match, both teams delivered a thrilling final game with impressive plays. Leading with a final score of 1-0, the HCMC University of Technology team emerged as the tournament champions.

The third prizes belong to the HCMC University of Science team and the University of Economics and Law team

At the tournament’s closing ceremony, THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong awarded the gold medals, championship cup, and the VND50 million prize to the HCMC University of Technology team. THACO President Pham Van Tai presented the silver medals and VND30 million to the An Giang University team. Additionally, the third prizes were also awarded to the HCMC University of Science and the University of Economics and Law, along with various individual and team awards such as Best Supporters, Top Scorer, Best Goalkeeper, and Best Referee Team.
