The couple in the KIA Sorento was saved thanks to the just-in-time inflated airbag

Reportedly, the accident involving the KIA Sorento and 2 trucks occurred around 10 a.m. on 17 April at Binh Thuan Bridge (Binh Tan district, HCMC). Particularly, when approaching Binh Thuan Bridge, the KIA Sorento was hit hard by the truck behind and slammed into the back of the truck in the front.

After the accident, the KIA SUV was badly damaged. The car front, windscreen, and rear were almost destroyed. However, the couple was fortunate enough that the airbag on this low-cost KIA car inflated just in time to save their lives.

The airbag in the car is a highly important item to secure the drivers when crashes happen. Over the past time, there were plenty of accidents in which the airbags did not inflate, which have posed concerns: "Whether it was because the crash was not severe enough or the airbag was so difficult to pull out?" However, in this accident, KIA Sorento has made a good impression when its airbag inflated to save the two persons in the car.

KIA Sorento is not a hot model of Truong Hai (THACO) in Vietnam market. According to statistics of Vietnam Auto Manufacturers' Association (VAMA), since the beginning of the year, this SUV had the sales of 421 cars, ranking 4th among KIA passenger cars in Vietnam. Currently, this model is sold at the price of 833-959 million VND.
