Emotional journey at THACO Sports Festival 2024 “Connecting Strength – Connecting Success”
The THACO Sports Festival 2024, at Ho Chi Minh City Office, concluded on September 28 after a month of competition. The closing event was held at the Sala Stadium.
Leading up to the closing ceremony was a thrilling men's football final, featuring the THACO Alliance against Emart Phan Van Tri. The match ended in a 2-2 draw after regulation time, pushing the game to a penalty shootout. The THACO Alliance finally won with a 3-0 score, showing exceptional resilience and determination.
The closing ceremony of the Sports Festival followed right after the match. The atmosphere was vibrant and lively, with leadership teams of THACO and Sub-holdings, various department representatives, union members, athletes, and enthusiastic supporters in attendance.
During the closing ceremony, THACO President, Mr. Pham Van Tai, highlighted the success of the Sports Festival 2024. "The festival has witnessed many thrilling and exciting matches, demonstrating high competitive levels of our athletes. This event will motivate us to maintain and further develop our fitness and sports activities, ensuring that not only THACO but all employees remain healthy, dynamic, and ready to face new challenges," he said.
Awards were distributed at the ceremony, with a trophy and medals given to the top-performing teams and individuals in seven events: football, badminton, swimming, running, tug of war, table tennis, and Chinese chess.
Le Huu Giao, a representative of the THACO Alliance team, the men's football championship at the 2024 Sports Festival, expressed his team's determination, "From the very beginning, we reminded ourselves to stay strong and never lose heart. This championship cup is the result of our relentless efforts and incredible team spirit of the THACO Alliance."
Emart Phan Van Tri's goalkeeper Ho A Sang, who was named the Best Goalkeeper of the Sports Festival, shared his mixed emotions: "I am very happy to receive the Best Goalkeeper award. Although there is a bit of regret for not winning the championship cup, the Sports Festival 2024 has given me unforgettable memories with my teammates. I hope next year's festival will be even bigger, providing more opportunities for us to interact with colleagues from other units."
Pham Viet Trung Hieu, who won first place in the mixed doubles badminton event for the THACO Alliance, praised the organization of this year's Sports Festival, "The festival was very professional with a well-planned schedule, allowing all athletes to compete wholeheartedly with the spirit of 'Connecting Strength - Connecting Success.'"
Tran Hong Quan, a consistent participant in the Sports Festival and second-place winner in the mixed doubles swimming event representing the THACO AUTO team, emphasized the importance of regular training: "Consistency in weekly training sessions has helped me play well in the games. I hope the company will continue to have more activities that engage both company leadership and employees’ families to strengthen our community."
Nguyen Thi Hong Phuong, who claimed first place in the women’s 1.5 km race for the THADICO team, expressed her excitement, "The lively competition among athletes from THACO and Sub-holdings made my victory more rewarding. Besides training, I focus on my daily nutrition to ensure good health and top performance."
Le Ngoc Che Thuyen, from the THADICO 2 team, which secured first place in the tug-of-war event, reflected on their preparation: "We thoroughly studied various stances, hand grips, and team formation strategies before the competition. The team's effort and determination led us to an unexpected victory."
Le Tu Thang, a third place winner in the table tennis event representing the THACO AUTO team, expressed his appreciation for the Sports Festival 2024, "This festival is a good opportunity for athletes to demonstrate their talents and engage with other team members. Winning this award makes me very happy and proud. I spent a lot of time honing my techniques, mentality, and physical fitness to perform my best."
Nguyen Van Luan from the THACO Alliance won the top prize in the Chinese chess event, prevailing over many strong competitors. Reflecting on his preparation, Luan said, "I delved into various chess strategies and learned new tactics to get ready for the rounds. This victory will inspire me to take part in more competitions at THACO."
The THACO Sports Festival 2024 at Ho Chi Minh City and Chu Lai created lasting memories for the athletes. It promoted team spirit, a passion for sports, and contributed to building a cohesive, dynamic, and growing workforce at THACO.
