Workers' Central Union of Cuba delegation visits THACO Chu Lai Industrial Park
On Monday (July 3), the delegation was led by Mr. Ulises Guilarte De Nacimiento, Politburo Member of the Communist Party of Cuba, Member of the Council of State of Cuba, Secretary General of the Workers' Central Union of Cuba, Vice President of the World Federation of Trade Unions to THACO Chu Lai Industrial Park. Accompanying the visitors were Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, Chairman of the Vietnam's Confederation of Labor, Mr. Phan Viet Cuong, Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of Quang Nam People's Council. On behalf of THACO, Chairman Tran Ba Duong chaired the welcoming event.
On the visit, the delegates were watching a film introducing THACO's development history and business fields, and its achievements during 20 years in Chu Lai Open Economic Zone in Quang Nam Province. Then, they had a visit to the auto, mechanical engineering and supporting industries manufacturing factories as well as the Chu Lai Port.
“Throughout history, THACO has built a private enterprise model which incorporates effective activities of Party and Unions which have made significant contributions to our business efficiency, compliance with State policies. We also are performing our role as a pioneer in laying the foundations for corporate culture standards, building industrialized workforces in line with our philosophy - delivering the best values to the country and the community", said THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ulises Guilarte De Nacimiento noted he was particularly impressed at THACO's large-scale, multi-industry business model with advanced production lines, lean and specialized management methods, and eco-friendly production, especially its efforts in building social welfare by providing local employment. He emphasized, “Cuba sees Vietnam as the second-best trading partner in Asia. In the coming time, we hope to see THACO in particular and Quang Nam Province in general will expand your cooperation with Cuban businesses to share experience and success in various fields, especially in economic development, CSR activities, and taking care of workers' lives."
On this occasion, he also invited THACO Chairman to attend the Havana International Fair in December to look for new cooperation and business opportunities with Cuban businesses, especially in the agricultural sector.
