Taking the stage at the event, THACO President Pham Van Tai emphasized THACO's commitment in Laos: "As a large and respected company in Vietnam, THACO took on the challenge of building the Nong Khang airport despite the difficulties of the Covid-19 pandemic. By May of this year, the airport was completed and handed over to the Lao Department of Civil Aviation, with a total investment of $82 million. The airport is now highly appreciated by the government and helps people in Laos travel more easily."

"THACO is also developing massive agricultural complexes in Attapeu and Sekong provinces. These complexes cover 27,384 hectares, and the plan is to convert existing rubber and oil palm plantations to fruit trees like bananas and pineapples. THACO will also be planting mangoes, grapefruits, and durians, combined with raising cows and fattening beef cattle. We will be producing organic fertilizers and plant protection drugs, creating a truly closed-loop, sustainable agricultural system. THACO's agricultural project in Laos has a total investment of $750 million, with implementation starting in 2024 and spanning four years. As of now, THACO has already launched a pilot model in Attapeu province, combining banana cultivation with cattle rearing and fruit tree planting. THACO hopes for the continued support of both Lao and Vietnamese leaders to facilitate the smooth and timely implementation of the project kicking off in January 2024," he added.

Vietnam's National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his strong approval of THACO's Nong Khang airport project and encouraged the company to continue expanding its commitment to high-tech agriculture in Laos. He further advised Vietnamese businesses to explore investment opportunities in sectors aligned with Laos' priorities, such as renewable energy, mining, and tourism.
