During the meeting, the Complex operation report was heard. Accordingly, in the first 6 months, the Complex has manufactured and assembled over 51,000 vehicles (including 25,000 passenger cars and 26,000 commercial vehicles), up 58 percent compared with the same period of 2015; upgraded and developed 11 new products (including 2 passenger cars, 2 buses, and 7 trucks), at the same time improved productivity, augmented the localization rate; submitted 7,091 billion VND to the national budget, in which 6,580 billion VND was deposited to Quang Nam province (including local tax of 3,858 billion VND, tariffs of 2,722 billion VND), up 49 percent over the same period in 2015.

Over the first 6 months, the Complex put the following projects into operation: the heavy weight specialized vehicles & semi-trailers manufacturing factory; Composite component factory; extended Chu Lai - Truong Hai Auto Machinery IP and two routes linking Tam Hiep port to the highway and the Industrial Park; Mold manufacturing factory; extended and upgraded Steel Processing Factory and Machinery Factory; warehouse 2A (7,200 square meters) in Chu Lai - Truong Hai port; industrial food catering plant with the capacity of 8,000 meals/shift, etc.

In the last 6 months, the Complex sets the target to manufacture and assemble 61,123 vehicles, increasing 20 percent over the first period of the year, estimated at 112,168 vehicles in the entire year, to submit 9,150 billion VND to the national budget and over 16,230 billion VND for the whole year, among which over 15,200 billion VND will be contributed to Quang Nam budget, up 51 percent compared with 2015. In terms of investment, the Complex will expedite the investment projects in the end of the year, including: expansion of the 210-ha Auto Machinery IP, phase-1 infrastructure construction; New bus factory with the capacity of 6,000 buses/year and 10,000 mini buses/year; new truck factory with the capacity of 100,000 vehicles/year, 50,000 vehicles/year in the first phase; Vina Mazda factory with the increasing capacity of 30,000 vehicles/year and new Mazda factory with the capacity of 100,000 vehicles/year, 50,000 vehicles/year in the first phase; Auto air conditioning factory with 50,000 products/year; Exhaust pipe factory with 100,000 products/year; wharf expansion project; Tam Hiep urban area project.

Speaking at the event, Mr Tran Ba Duong - Chairman pointed out the focused missions and challenges in the last 6 months and from now on to 2018. He also noted that from this moment, THACO only has 18 months till integration. All THACO employees in general, the Complex in particular need to have strong will and high determination, to emphasize the sense of responsibility in each task, put all efforts into manufacture and business activities, complete the objective and plan, at the same time, to innovate thinking and management methods to keep up with development, "elevating" THACO both in scope and caliber for integration.
