Central Economic Commission delegation visits THACO Chu Lai
A Central Economic Commission delegation, led by Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, its Deputy Head, visited THACO Chu Lai Industrial Park for a working session on June 26. Representatives from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Information and Communications, and Quang Nam provincial departments accompanied the delegation. Mr. Nguyen Quang Bao, the THACO AUTO President welcomed them.
The visit focused on THACO's implementation of key industrial development policies (Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW/2018) and Industry 4.0 strategies (Resolution No. 52-NQ/TW/2019). This evaluation aimed to identify any shortcomings in existing regulations and propose amendments to support future advancements.
On behalf of THACO, Mr. Nguyen Quang Bao outlined their development strategy at the meeting, emphasizing the growth of the mechanical and automotive industries alongside industrial-scale agriculture. Notably, THACO has established the nation's largest centralized Mechanical-Automobile and Logistics Center in Chu Lai, ranking among the top in ASEAN. This center generates significant job opportunities, fosters socio-economic development in the region, and contributes substantially to Quang Nam's provincial budget.
In line with Resolution No. 52-NQ/TW/2019, THACO has been transforming its factories by embracing automation and digital management tools, boosting productivity and developing high-tech products that meet evolving customer needs. Its efforts have culminated in a smart factory model, featuring a digital platform with a Manufacturing Execution System (MES). This system connects automated production lines throughout the factory and facilitates information flow across the entire value chain, from order placement to delivery.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, the Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission recognized THACO's role in advancing Vietnam's industrial sector. Additionally, they welcomed the Group's proposals. This exchange will provide valuable input for reviewing the implementation of existing resolutions, refining policies, and strengthening support mechanisms for industrial corporations and private businesses.
During their visit, the delegation toured automobile manufacturing and assembly facilities, mechanical and supporting industry factories, and Chu Lai Port.
