Irrigation works for agricultural production in Snuol
To meet the needs of large-scale agricultural production, THACO AGRI's Snuol Complex in Cambodia has been constructing irrigation systems to ensure water supply for crop production and livestock farming.
Up to now, the complex's irrigation system includes 22 irrigation lakes spanning 184,603 square meters, holding around 935,011 cubic meters of water, 4 dams, namely dam No. 1, dam No. 2, upstream of dam No. 2, dam No. 2A, spanning 2,187,315 square meters, holding 25,711,944 cubic meters of water, 5 water canals, about 23.3 square kilometers long, supplying water for about 632 hectares of grass farms, 2,142 hectares of bananas and about 3,024 cows at farms, preventing floods for 10,715 hectares of agricultural land.
In particular, dam No. 1 is considered the heart of the system. Thanks to its water supply, the irrigated area has increased much compared to previously.
The irrigation system has brought different stretches of barren land back to life, where crops grow thanks to the water supply. Such abundant water source has been driving the complex's growth in expanding its farming and livestock operations.
In 2023, the complex intends to build more irrigation works, as well as operate irrigation pumping stations to supply more than 14 million cubic meters of water from the irrigation system, meeting the demand for water use in agriculture.
