Autocom exports millions of seat covers to overseas markets

Autocom is a member in THACO Chu Lai Industrial Park (Quang Nam). The factory has an area of 12,000m2 and a capacity of 100,000 auto seats for the Vietnam market and 300,000 seat covers for the overseas markets every year. It was equipped with modern production lines and machines from Germany, Japan, Italy, USA and South Korea. The production management system is digital, too. To meet quality requirements from THACO-distributed passenger car brands and overseas markets, the factory applies a quality management system in line with IATF 16949, ISO 9001:2015 standards. Product quality is strictly controlled at every stage by modern testing equipment from USA, UK, Japan and Korea.

The factory products achieve 100-percent local content, offering different types for Vietnam and overseas markets. Thanks to the diverse models, high durability, optimal features (massage, backrest, heating, cooling ...) to create comfortable sitting, the factory seats are chosen and highly appreciated by big auto brands. Its main products include passenger car seats (Kia, Mazda, Peugeot), truck seats (Towner, Ollin, Forland) and bus seats (THACO).
Aware of the market needs, the factory also produces and supplies high-quality and well-designed auto accessories and interior, namely seat covers, steering wheel covers, gear shift covers, dashboard covers, floor mats, vehicle covers, truck tarpaulins, sunshades, backrests, neck pillows, multi-purpose bags ... Best of all, seat covers are the main exported products of the factory.

As of today, the factory has exported passenger car seat covers and gear shift covers for factories of big automakers (Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Haval) in different countries, in which Korea and Malaysia are the key markets. In 2019, the factory earned USD5 million for exported seat covers and USD1.2 million for gear shift covers. This year, we expect to reach revenues of USD8 million and USD2.5 million for exporting seat covers and gear shift covers respectively. We are also heading to expand business in the US, Thailand and Japan.

In the coming time, Autocom plans to increase the export volumes by 150,000 seat covers and 1,200,000 gear shift covers each year for the Korean partners. On the other hand, the factory also boosts its supply of bus seats, auto seat cushions, etc. for domestic businesses.
