In 2012, the Mazda CX-5 made its official debut in Vietnam as a completely built up (CBU). However, due to low market demands, the sales stayed modest. Up to the end of 2013, when THACO launched the completely knocked down (CKD) CX-5 with outstanding functions and technologies, the then Mazda CX-5 started to grasp customers’ attention.

Vietnam Auto Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) statistics shows that over 25,000 Mazda CX-5 cars have been sold in the country so far. Especially, over the past 2 years, Mazda CX-5 is the top performer in terms of sales volume among CUVs in Vietnam. This is the clearest evidence of customers’ confidence and love for the Mazda brand.

Continuing the momentum, Mazda has just introduced the new Mazda CX-5 with more modern and engaging look, and a big step forward in technology in response to increased and diverse demands of customers. Among the new high-tech products, the Mazda CX-5 is the third model equipped with the G-Vectoring Control which helps stabilize the car body, bringing total comfort to users. The new CX-5 stands for Mazda’s pride in terms of design, technology, and reliability.

In Vietnam, THACO’s new Mazda CX-5 will offer a selection of 8 paint finishes and 3 versions: Mazda CX-5 2.0L 2WD, Mazda CX-5 2.5L 2WD, and Mazda CX-5 2.5L AWD. All of these 3 versions are equipped with a new LED system, G-Vectoring Control, Auto Hold (to hold the brakes), parking assist sensor, rear air conditioning vents, reclining rear seatbacks, integrated USD ports, smart keys, and electronically-controlled trunk covers. Especially, the two 2.5L versions also feature the new generation of Head Up Display (HUD), Bose® 10-speaker audio system, and i-Activsense safety system.

Exterior: elegant, attractive in every detail

The new CX-5 impresses with the grille expanded by modern 3D graphics, together with bright and sharp metal contours instead of the horizontal grille in previous generations. Underneath are long and narrow air vents, which make the new Mazda CX-5's head seem broadened. This change has brought more elegance and classiness to the newly launched CX-5.

The front and rear LEDs are also altered with a more compact, slimmer, but sharp and angular design with light graphics surrounded by a shiny chrome trim. Undeniably, this is a strong highlight in the car head. The next-generation LED system not only makes the CX-5 more prominent, but also produces clearer, more durable and efficient lighting effects than traditional lights.

The design on the new Mazda CX-5 is finely and sophisticatedly handcrafted and finished. The whole new door handles are carefully designed based on the palms, bringing more comfort when handling and more convenience to open the doors. The wider the door angle opens, the easier users get into the car. In addition, doors’ opening force and speed are adjusted more appropriately according to body movement. The Mazda CX-5 is also equipped with smart electronically-controlled trunk cover which has anti-jam sensors and is able to memorize the last opening angle. This is deemed an exceptionally useful feature with a simple operation.

Interior: Perfectly perfect

Luxurious interior space comprises the new-generation steering wheel and an up-to-date 7-inch touch screen. Meanwhile, the dashboard is equipped with a new generation HUD screen to display information directly on the windscreen instead using a secondary screen on the previous generation, maintaining the drivers’ focus. The driving compartment is completely sound-proof thanks to the upgraded sound-proof system with a total of nearly 700 refined and replacement parts, providing the finest sound insulation.

Bose® 10-speaker audio system to create the most realistic and vivid sound in the passenger compartment and the Mazda Connect system with smartphone connectivity are other outstanding features on the new Mazda CX-5.

Mazda dedication can be felt in every touch of design. Luxurious leatherette seats and elegant wooden metal trim. To further enhance comfort and convenience, the new Mazda CX-5 incorporates state-of-the-art passenger cabin technology, such as rear-seat air conditioning vents, reclining rear seatbacks, rear-seat USB ports, and wider sunroof.

The car’s good impression also comes from electronic parking brake with Auto Hold function which keeps the car stand still when the car comes to a complete stop even when drivers take the foot off the brake pedal. This function aims to provide the best support for drivers during car halt or traffic jam. The system automatically releases the brake when the accelerator pedal is pressed.

Not only owning an ideal interior space, the new Mazda CX-5 also has a big win with the 505 liter cargo compartment (a 5L increase compared to the previous generation). The unique and convenient 4/2/4 folding ratio will help expand the capacity of the luggage compartment.

What should be mentioned is that Mazda always knows how to make the difference and win over customers with high expectation by leading the design that takes human in the center and offers the best comfort and convenience. This is also the feature that makes CX-5 a standout compared to other rivals in the same segment.

Operation: Connecting emotions

Among the new generation products, the new Mazda CX-5 features the G-Vectoring Control (GVC). Mazda is the first-ever car manufacturer to utilize this technology to improve the activeness of engines and chassis by means of the interaction with the steering wheel.

GVC technology is based on the operating parameters such as steering angle, vehicle velocity to control the engine’s operations, thus adjusting the torque of the engine accordingly and efficiently. This technology actively assists the speed control, helps maintain the acceleration at a moderate speed to improve the balance and stability of the seaters, generating comfort when the car is on the move.

According to the latest assessment by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the new Mazda CX-5 has successfully won the title of the safest car in the world (Top Safety Pick +). The car is also rated five-star by reputable car assessment organizations such as Euro NCAP, the Australian NCAP. The awards are a testament to the global-standard quality and safe product from the Japanese car brand.

In addition to the blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, the new Mazda CX-5 is also equipped with lane keep assist to improve safety level for the car owner.

The new Mazda CUV continues to excel at the top safety product in the segment with safety equipment such as Dynamic Stability Control system (DSC), Hill Launch Assist (HLA), front and rear crash sensors, rear cameras, GPS satellite. In particular, the 2.5L version is also equipped with i-Activsense advanced safety system.
