2017 plan deployment conference at Chu Lai - Truong Hai Complex

In 2016, the Complex has manufactured and assembled 106,000 vehicles, up 44% compared to 2015; submitting 14,350 billion VND to Quang Nam budget, up 42% compared to 2015. In terms of the production of components and spare parts, the total production value reached 6,000 billion VND. Throughout the year, many vehicle parts have been exported to countries in South Korea, Malaysia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Colombia, etc. with a total export value of more than 2.1 million USD. Regarding delivery - transport, the existing logistics services have been upgraded, the service system expanded, costs reduced; international maritime route South Korea - Chu Lai opened, contributing to reduce logistics costs.

2016 was the year that focuses on 3-year strategy implementation from 2015 to 2017 in preparation for integration; as well as the start of a new investment cycle in order to increase the competitiveness of THACO. The Complex has invested and put into operation 1 auto manufacturing plant, 3 spare parts and components plants; started expanding the Auto Machinery IP (268ha) and the port of Chu Lai - Truong Hai; built a new bus plant with the capacity of 5,000 units / year and a mini bus (12-16 seats) plant with 10,000 units / year, upgraded the technical infrastructure, the technology of the existing plants; complied to the strategy to build the complex as the center of auto, components, and spare parts manufacture and assembly on an ASEAN level.

 
In 2017, the Complex plans to manufacture and assemble 117,000 vehicles, up 11% compared to 2016, including 54,000 trucks and buses; 63,000 passenger cars. For spare parts, the complex will increase the localization rate and manufacture in favor of products with large volumes, availability of domestic raw materials, and the same production technology; focus on mechanical components serving the auto and agricultural machinery manufacturing, promote the export of spare parts and components totaling to more than 10 million USD. In logistics, the company will open a direct container shipping route from the port of Hiroshima (Japan) to Chu Lai; promote convective mining routes from Chu Lai to South Korea and Japan; complete the project to expand the perth; upgrade and add additional tugboats and machinery to improve loading and unloading competence. Concerning the budget plan in 2017, the Complex expects to submit over 15,600 billion VND in Quang Nam province.

In 2017, THACO continues to upgrade the Complex with the estimated total disbursement at 4,600 billion VND, up 181% compared to 2016; including the following projects: expansion of the Auto Machinery Industrial Park; complete the new bus plant; develop the Mazda passenger car plant, a new truck plant; THACO-Hyundai commercial vehicles joint-venture factory; an agricultural machine manufacturing plant; Continue to implement the construction of the components and spare parts plant: a new chemical plant; a bus chassis plant; a passenger car's leaf spring and stabilizer bar plant; R & D center; Workers' living quarter and Chu Lai social infrastructure services to put into operation in 2018.

 
Speaking at the conference, Mr Dinh Van Thu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Quang Nam People's Committee congratulated the outstanding success of THACO in 2016 and stressed: Leaders of Quang Nam highly respect and appreciate the dynamism, enthusiasm, creativity, mental effort to overcome difficulties of THACO leadership and employees in implementing the strategy of Vietnam brand autos and contributing greatly to the socio-economic development Quang Nam Province. During the year, the Complex has contributed over 60% of industrial production value and 60.8% in terms of value added to the industry in Quang Nam; essentially contributing to implement the economic restructuring of the province (the province which achieves the highest industrial growth rate in the country). In order to successfully implement the integration strategies, THACO continues to effectively implement the cooperation with strategic partners to become the manufacture center of automobiles, components, and spare parts in the ASEAN level, continue technological innovations, increase the localization rate, expand the supporting industrial production, and engage more deeply into the global value chain.
