2017 Opening Ceremony at the Complex

At the ceremony, Chairman Tran Ba Duong read to all employees Message No. 12, specifying the objectives and tasks of 2017 which is the last year in the 3-year strategy (2015-2017) of THACO in order to create the necessary resources for ASEAN integration in 2018. This is the year when THACO must complete large volumes of the remaining work tasks of the 3-year strategy to ensure its new competitiveness in the context of integration. This is also the year marking 20 years of THACO's formation and development, and the company becoming the largest private enterprise in Vietnam. The Chairman called on all employees to be acutely aware of their roles and responsibilities, innovate their mindset and actions, and successfully accomplish 2017 mission with the spirit of "Potential reinforcement, THACO rising with sustainable development" to bring THACO on the new journey with a new appearance as a multi-industry conglomerate in the ASEAN level.

 
On behalf of the Complex employees, Mr Pham Van Tai - THACO's Permanent Deputy General Director made a speech in response to the Chairman's message; committed effort, creativity, dedication spirit, willingness to change, willingness to integrate, and endeavor to achieve THACO strategies, bringing the Complex to become the national Center of multi-purpose mechanics and automobiles in the ASEAN level, with specific 2017 targets including: manufacturing and assembling more than 118,000 vehicles: 54,400 trucks and buses; 64,000 passenger cars (33,000 KIA cars, 30,000 Mazda cars, and nearly 1,000 Peugeot cars). In terms of the production of components and spare parts, the company will increase the localization rate and production in favor of products with large volumes, having raw materials in the country, and the same production technology; promote the export of vehicle parts and components with the estimated amount of more than 10 million USD. The company estimates its budget contribution in Quang Nam province more than 15,600 billion VND.

At the Complex, in 2017, THACO continues to invest in and upgrade the plants with an expected total investment value at 6,600 billion VND, 4 times as much as 2016, including the following projects: expansion of the auto and mechanical industrial park and the main road of the park; building a new bus plant; a new Mazda passenger car plant; THACO-Hyundai commercial vehicle venture plant; an air conditioning plant for trucks and buses; and an agricultural machinery plant. The company continues to implement the construction of the components and spare parts plants: a new chemical plant; a bus chassis plant; a passenger car's leaf spring and stabilizer bar plant; an advanced vehicle interior design company; THACO R&D Center; Chu Lai Workers' living quarters and social infrastructure services to put these into operation in 2018.

 
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Nguyen Ngoc Quang - Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee Secretary once again confirmed the enormous contributions of THACO to the socio-economic development of the province. He believed that with the resources and experience that THACO has accumulated, with determination and collective efforts of the leaders and employees, THACO will continue to overcome challenges and obtain new successes and confidently rise with sustainable development in the integration process.
